This botanical art was drawn by artist Alison Schroeer of Schroeer Scientific Illustration. The drawing shows stages of bud development, and the mature flower with petals, sepals, and stem, and was used as educational poster art. In the last flower, several petals have been removed to show reproductive parts of the plant, including the stamens (filament and anther), and pistil (stigma, style, and ovary).
